Fall 2026 Beauty Reset: Stop Chasing Trends and Start Ritualizing Your Self- Care

Forget the beauty trends on TikTok and embrace taking better care of your skin, hair and body one ritual at a time.

There is something about September in Newfoundland that makes me want to reset everything.

The house gets a little cozier. The sweaters come out. The days get shorter. Summer skin has had its fill of sun, salt water, wind and long days outside.

And suddenly, you look in the mirror and think:

“Okay. We need to talk.”

Maybe your skin feels drier.

Maybe your hair feels a little rougher than it did in June.

Maybe your scalp is itchy or sensitive.

Or your makeup isn't sitting the way it used to.

Or you are simply tired of buying products that promise to transform you overnight but disappoint.

I understand.

And this fall, I think we need a different approach.

Welcome to the Fall Self-Care Reset

One of the biggest beauty shifts happening in 2026 is a move away from constantly chasing the next miracle product and toward skin longevity, skin barrier health and consistent daily care.

Our tolerance for bullshit marketing is at an all time low for women who are smart, busy and beautiful inside and out

We're asking:

Does this actually support my skin?

Can I maintain this ritual?

Is my scalp and hair healthy?

Am I taking care of my body for the the long term, not just Friday night?

That last question is particularly important for women 40+.

Our skin and hair change as we age. Hormonal changes, environmental exposure, stress and simply having lived a wonderfully full life can affect hydration, elasticity, density and texture.

Our hair deserves to be part of this conversation too. I see a lot of my clients with hair loss issues, even myself through menopause experienced hair thinning. How can we look after our tresses as we age? I always recommend women take a multi vitamin, use a shampoo and conditioner at least twice a week that improves scalp and hair health, massage your scalp as a self care ritual you look forward to. I love using our Blueberry Bliss Sugar Scrub mixed with olive oil to rehydrate my scalp once a month at a minimum. You can always make your own recipe from my blog

Talk to a menopause expert, your doctor or nurse practitioner

You do not have to go through this alone, menopause and peri-menopause affects every woman differently. Get your bloodwork done to see where you are and ask for medications for hair loss if it is happening to you.

Pro-Tip

If you have fine hair that is susceptible to damage ask your stylist not to use heat processing on your hair, it causes chemical breakage over multiple salon visits which is why you see so many women choose darker haircolors to repair their hair.

Your Scalp Is Skin Too

If your face gets a cleanser, serum, moisturizer and treatment, why does your scalp get shampooed and immediately forgotten? Conditioner is a necessity, especially in St. John’s NL.

Fall is the perfect time to start taking better care of your hair.

Your scalp can experience dryness, buildup, sensitivity and changes in oil production. And if your hair has become finer, drier or more fragile with age, being gentler with the scalp and hair becomes even more important. The right conditioner will not weigh your hair down, it will add more volume and shine.

At the Self Care Lounge, this is part of how we think about beauty.

We don't just look at the hair.

We look at you.

How does your scalp feel?

What has your hair been through?

What does your skin need right now?

And perhaps most importantly:

What can you realistically enjoy doing at home consistently ?

A beautiful scalp and hair treatment that happens once every six months isn't going to restore your hair to its former glory

It's an event.

And I love an event.

But I love results even more, so you continue these treatments once a week at home.

The Fall Rule: Less, But Better

I think many women are exhausted by beauty.

There are too many products.

Too many launches.

Too many complicated routines.

Too many people telling us that if we don't buy the newest serum, mask, oil, peptide, acid, powder or gadget, we're somehow falling behind.

We're not.

Your bathroom doesn't need to look like a laboratory.

Your skin needs consistency.

Your hair needs care.

And you need rituals you actually enjoy.

That's where I believe Newfoundland beauty has something special to offer.

At ISC Beauty, we've always looked to our own landscape for inspiration.

Our Climate-Adapted Botanicals™ approach began with a very simple idea:

If plants can survive our climate, perhaps there is something we can learn from them.

Our skin lives here too.

Wind.

Cold.

Salt air.

Changing temperatures.

Long summer days.

Dry winter air.

Our environment is not exactly shy.

So our approach to skincare has never been about making women look like someone else.

It's about helping your skin feel healthy, comfortable and beautifully cared for.

Your Fall Home Ritual

Here's the ritual I want you to try this September.

Not twelve steps.

Five.

1. Cleanse gently

Fall isn't the season to strip your skin until it squeaks.

Your skin barrier is your first line of defence, and current skincare thinking is increasingly focused on protecting and supporting it rather than constantly attacking the skin with aggressive exfoliation.

Cleanse.

Don't punish. Our zero waste glycerin bars cleanse effectively but do not overstep the skin. Aurora Facial Bar is my go to, day and night.

2. Tone + Add your treatment

Toner is the most underused product that gives skin the biggest boost.

A good serum should nourish, even skin tone and leave skin dewy and renewed.

For me, it's about giving the skin concentrated care without creating a complicated routine.

Cleanse → tone → serum → then moisturize.

That's a beautiful place to start.

3. Moisturize like you mean it

Fall is when I want a little more comfort from my skincare.

Think nourishment.

Think firming.

Think skin that feels great when you wake up in the morning.

Your moisturizer isn't an optional finishing touch.

It's part of maintaining the skin you've got. We have specific treatment products for all the skin types with various skin issues like sensitivity and acne.. If you literally need a miracle then the product I recommend without hesitation is Labrador Tea Night Cream. If you need lighter maintenance I love Sea Veggie Lotion and Aurora Sleep Masque.

4. Don't forget your neck, hands and body

This one drives me crazy.

Women will spend twenty minutes caring for their face and then completely abandon their neck, chest, hands and body.

Ladies.

All of you is coming to the party!

Your hands especially tell the story of your life.

Gardened with them?

Worked with them?

Raised children with them?

Held grandchildren?

Created things?

Loved people?

Let's celebrate those hands.

Care for them. Our Releaf Hand Cream is packed with botanicals that soothe, shea butter that nourishes with essential oils to calm, uplift and add an anti- bacterial properties to the cream.

Firming Body Serum is amazing head to toe. You can use any of our products on your face. Good ingredients from nature for head to toe care.

5. Give your hair & scalp a ritual to love

Wash your hair twice, use a product specifically for your hair type, texture and condition. Shampoo for color treated hair is always a good choice for gentle ingredients.

Massage your scalp gently.

Pay attention to how it feels.

Don't scratch aggressively.

Don't use hot water, always finish your shampoo with a cool rinse

Don't scrub your hair, or roughly dry it with a towel, use an old t-shirt to get the excess water out without tearing your cuticle layers off your hair.

Your scalp and hair deserves the same thoughtful attention you're giving your face.

And if you're experiencing significant or persistent hair shedding, thinning or scalp problems, that's the point where professional medical advice is appropriate rather than simply adding another cosmetic product.

And Then There Is the Self Care Lounge

This is exactly why I created the Self Care Lounge.

I didn't want another place where women could come in, get a service and be sent back into the world a little too quickly.

I wanted to create somewhere you can truly relax & exhale.

Somewhere you could sit down and say:

“My skin has changed.”

“My hair has changed.”

“I don't know what I'm supposed to be using anymore.”

“Help.”

And we can figure it out together.

Maybe you need a facial.

Maybe you need your brows shaped.

Maybe your hair needs a proper reset.

Maybe you need to talk about your skincare routine.

Maybe you simply need an hour where nobody is asking you for anything.

That's self care too.

The Beauty Industry Is Finally Catching Up

One of my favourite beauty trends for 2026 is actually something we've believed in for a long time:

Beauty should feel amazingly great.

The experience matters.

The ritual matters.

How a product feels.

How it smells.

How it fits into your life.

How you feel when you're finished.

Current beauty reporting is pointing toward exactly this combination of effective skincare and pleasurable ritual. Consumers are increasingly looking for routines that support skin health while also providing comfort and enjoyment. I am not a fan of a routine, I love ritualizing my self care.

I don't want women to feel like they have another job to do every time they walk into their bathroom.

I want these little rituals to be the part of the day where you stop.

Breathe.

Take care of yourself.

Always remember and never forget that you deserve to enjoy your time caring deeply for yourself.

Fall 2026 Is About Coming Back to Yourself

I'm not interested in helping women look 25.

I'm interested in helping women look fantastic at the age they are.

There is a difference.

Healthy-looking skin.

Beautiful hair.

Strong personal style.

A little lipstick.

Great brows.

A beautiful fragrance.

A quiet morning.

A warm shower.

A favourite sweater.

A skincare ritual at night.

A cup of tea.

Maybe a glass of wine on Friday.

That's my kind of beauty.

Not perfection.

Presence.

So this fall, before you buy another slew of mass produced and slick marketed products, I want you to ask yourself one question:

“What does my skin actually need from me?”

Maybe the answer is simpler than you think.

And if you don't know the answer?

Come see us.

We'll figure it out together.
